Job Description

A cyber security organization in Lancaster, PA seeks a Part Time Billing Specialist on a temporary basis. This part-time role is ideal for candidates experienced in government contract invoicing, time and expense review, and compliance-driven client billing. The workload is cyclical, requiring 3-5 focused days per month, typically aligned with the month-end billing period.

As organizational needs grow, this assignment offers the potential to transition into a permanent position with expanded hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and submit monthly invoices using BigTime, Unanet, or a comparable GovCon billing system.
  • Validate time entries, labor categories, and expense charges, and resolve discrepancies prior to invoicing.
  • Ensure all invoices align with contract requirements, including T&M, Fixed Price, and Cost-Plus structures.
  • Maintain billing schedules, funding trackers, and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal finance staff during month-end close and revenue reconciliation.
  • Assemble complete invoice backup documentation and maintain audit-ready records.
  • Communicate promptly with internal teams and clients regarding invoice issues, adjustments, or clarifications.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in GovCon billing or project-based billing environments.
  • Proficiency with BigTime, Unanet, or equivalent government contract billing tools.
  • Strong Excel skills with the ability to reconcile time and expense data accurately.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational capabilities, and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently during critical billing periods.
  • Onsite or hybrid availability preferred; strong remote candidates will be considered.

Work Arrangement

  • Part-time: 3-5 days per month, concentrated during the billing cycle.
  • Work hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM on scheduled billing days.
  • Onsite or hybrid preferred for collaboration; remote option available for highly qualified candidates.
